After yesterday's fiasco with the wind, and after a good night's rest, we ventured out to one of the many farmer's markets listed in the Caldwell Visitor Guide, which was really interesting as it had a lot of home baked goods, crafts, and produce but also a Mexican dance group of children and young adults! We were lucky to get there as the show began.
On our way to the Nampa Farmer's Market, first we thought there was a "dust storm" but then realized there was an accident that involved a horse occupied trailer! The horses looked okay, as did the gal who was driving the truck.
This is the costume on a young dancer and the dance this group of children danced was called, "The Dance of the Old Man".
Now Idaho is trying to get on the Weed Wagon!
As Caldwell/Nampa is the Idaho Wine Country, we made a trip to the Sawtooth Winery. It was a drive through the many fields filled with wheat, beans, sugar beets, barley, onion seed, and carrot seed, and lavender. I had no idea Idaho was a farm rich area!
Lavender fields!
Man-made beehives are scattered throughout the lavender fields.
We weren't sure if we were going to be able to see the bees, but you can!
Thom and I watch a lot of old Lone Ranger shows on DVD while on the road and on METV at home; today we saw "Silver"!
Then we realized there were two!
Vineyard! The grapes are quite small right now, as it is not harvest time; that will be in September-October.
The Vineyard Gardens
I don't know what kind of tree this is, but I wonder if it will grow in Ocala!
The vineyard and the many, many parcels of farm land!
It was an easy day today. We topped it off by watching the Florida v. Virginia game. We were hoping for a better finale but it just wasn't meant to be for the Gators this year.
Until next blog ...
